Possible Causes:

  1. Directshow adapter collides with some component in Windows.
  2. Drivers, in most cases GigE driver, cannot be installed because a firewall or an antivirus software blocks the adapters from being changed.
  3.  .NET Framework installation is corrupted.
  4. Windows installation has been damaged.


Possible Solutions:

  1. Choose custom installation and uncheck the DIrectShow Filter Driver.
  2. Deactivate your firewall or antivirus software. In case of Kaspersky Antivirus software, ask support from Basler.
  3. Perform a new installation of .NET Framework or ask Basler Support.
  4. Try to reinstall the Windows Installer with the following steps:
  1. Click "WIndow button +R" and type "Service.msc" and confirm
  2. Right click "Window Installer" and select "manual" and apply
  3. If the problem is still there: Click the " Windows Start Button ", type "msiexec/unregister" in the search box and confirm.
  4. Click the "Windows Start Button", type "msiexec/regserver" in the search box and confirm.
  5. Try to install pylon again.


If the pylon installation still has the same problem despite of above measures, then restore window can be considered as next step.
