Issue:

- BSOD during Shut down process (PCE-USB4)
- We have customer experiencing BSOD during Shut down process with the PCE-USB4 card.
- OS: Windows 7 x64
- Motherboard: ADLINK IMB-S90
- Previously we also have another customer who have this issue when using Supermicro X9DRH Motherboard.
- I checked the motherboard specification, looks like both are the same generation server board. Is there any compatibility issue with Renesas USB3.0 chipset or driver?

Solution:

1. Verify that the BSOD does not occur when the card is removed?
2. If it doesn’t, try to leave the card slotted in and try disabling this card under the device manager to see if the BSOD occurs during shutdown?
3. If it doesn’t occur after you have disabled the card in device manager, it is likely a driver issue.
4. You can try installing the latest Intel server chipset driver first to see if the issue can be resolved.
