First at all, check your lighting controller's model and specification.

For example, lighting controller VLC-4000

VLC-4000 only supported Opto-isolated output signal when using mutiple cameras.
GPIO signal will be connected as there is a connection inside the lighting controller, camera GPIO output signal will merge together when use it as the trigger source with VLC-4000. It is due to the 2 cameras are not isolated.

Suggested Solutions:

Use Opto-isolated output as trigger source when using VLC-4000 lighting controller.
